چکیده

The changes of ileal bacterial microbiota in pigs during the first 2 weeks post-weaning in response to feeding lincomycin, organic acids or herbal extract were characterized using 16S rRNA gene-based PCR-denaturing gradient gel electrophoresis (DGGE) profiling, DNA sequencing, and real-time PCR (QPCR) techniques. Both time post-weaning and the dietary treatments resulted in a shift of the microbiota composition. While time post-weaning mostly influenced Clostridium group, the feed additives increased the population of Lactobacillus and related lactic acid bacteria by ≥3-fold. Chicory (Cichorium intybus L) As Fibre Source in Pig Diets Effects on Digestibility, Gut Microbiota and Performance

The aim of this thesis was to increase our understanding about chicory (forage and root) as fibre source for pigs, by studying the effects of diets with inclusion of chicory on digestibility, digestion site, performance, gut microbiota and environment. In total 62 pigs were used, including newly weaned and growing intact pigs and growing post valve t-caecum (PVTC)-cannulated pigs. The weaned pi...

Effect of feeding different cereal-based diets on the performance and gut health of weaned piglets with or without previous access to creep feed during lactation.

A trial was conducted to evaluate the effect of different cereals on the performance, gut mucosa, and microbiota of weanling pigs with or without previous access to creep feed during lactation. A total of 108 newly weaned pigs (7.4 kg BW; 26 d of age; half with and half without creep feed) were used. Piglets were distributed by BW into 36 pens according to a 2 × 6 factorial arrangement of treat...

Effect of feeding piglets with different extruded and nonextruded cereals on the gut mucosa and microbiota during the first postweaning week.

Two trials were conducted to evaluate the effect of different cereals in piglet diets on the jejunal mucosa and the ileal and cecal microbiota during the first postweaning days. In Trial 1, 48 newly weaned pigs (7.95 kg BW; 26 d of age) were individually housed and distributed among 3 experimental diets containing white rice (Oryza sativa), naked oats (Avena sativa), or barley (Hordeum vulgare)...

Diet physical form, fatty acid chain length, and emulsification alter fat utilization and growth of newly weaned pigs.

An experiment was conducted to examine the interplay of diet physical form (liquid vs. dry), fatty acid chain length [medium- (MCT) vs. long-chain triglyceride (LCT)], and emulsification as determinants of fat utilization and growth of newly weaned pigs. Ninety-six pigs were weaned at 20.0 ± 0.3 d of age (6.80 ± 0.04 kg) and fed ad libitum 1 of 8 diets for 14 d according to a 2(3) factorial arr...

Effect of fumaric acid and dietary buffering capacity on ileal and fecal amino acid digestibilities in early-weaned pigs.

Experiments were conducted to determine the effect of fumaric acid supplementation and buffering capacity of the diet on ileal and fecal digestibilities of CP, GE, and amino acids in early-weaned pigs. In two experiments, 12 pigs each were weaned at 14 d of age and fitted with a simple T-cannula at the distal ileum between 15 and 17 d of age. In both experiments, the pigs were fed four diets, b...
